Dennis Martire has many accomplishments during his 30-year tenure at the Laborers’ International Union of North America. And they are all triumphs for workforces in the United States. Martire currently serves as the elected vice president and regional manager for the mid-Atlantic area, a role that he’s held since 2002.
And within this position, Dennis Martire worked tirelessly in the state of Maryland to pass a prevailing wage law to ensure fair wages for working families. This occurred in Montgomery County. There, he strived to bring this law to fruition — a law that would ensure taxpayers receive more in return regarding their public investments. Research indicates that prevailing wage laws are overwhelmingly positive; they do not drive up costs, but they do facilitate work being done by employees in a faster yet safer manner. These goals as well as fairer wages were brought to the Montgomery County workforce under the leadership of Martire.
